Switching brushes, And david revoy's brushes completely destroys krita's default brushes

Posted by DerangedKnite - June 29th, 2023

So when I got into krita, I decided to rely on the default brushes before I got myself in the brush decision, And I was watching this guy known as david revoy, His basically, Krita Jesus, He uses that thing like alooooooooot, And he does amazing comics with it like pepper and carrot (Please give it a read its sooo good its proudly made in krita) He has a brush set he has made, And I was struggling to draw realistic things with krita's default pencils because, They seem to not vary much or do a good job in shading, But when I used david revoy's brush set, It changed everything on how I draw, Usually I do the sketch in a light manner like shapes and so one with the normal pencil, And use the mechanical pencil to darken the lines and make them more visible.

It made things so much better, Been drawing for hours, And I was experimenting with this, So I didn't try out much with shading, Nor even trying it on a cartoony character,But this can be a good sign, You never know I guess, I love this!

Open-source software like Krita and Blender are the greatest inventions of the 21st century so far. I can’t imagine a time even 30 years ago where many people had to give up on even doing art as a hobby just because they didn’t happen to grow up in Los Angeles, California and quite literally had an uncle who worked at Disney, and they had no cost-efficient way to share it to anyone outside their immediate family. SOME things change for the better…

Yeah, Krita and blender are both a blessing in disguise, I watched a video on drawing software tierlist, And krita managed to make it to being an S tier program, As in, Its sitting with the big leagues of photoshop (Bleugh) and CSP, its that good, And I love it so much, The fact it also comes from a community that made me love linux in the first place is astounding, Long live krita. We need more open source software like it

And blender has been used by almost everyone at this point, It is the main go to for 3d modeling.

@DerangedKnite I've used Krita in the past, and it's fantastic even for frame-by-frame 2D animation, though I'm trying to get better at 3D which is why I tend to sing Blender's praises more these days.

Me is a hypocrite he moved to clipstudio
